The family discovered the completely abandoned but rather promising location in the southern part of the Szekszárd wine region, in the Szeles-hát vineyard in 1998. Planting began in 2001 and was completed in 2019. Today there are 57 hectares under vine at the Szeleshát Estate.
Most of the vineyards are planted with Merlot, Kékfrankos and Cabernet Franc varieties. The wines are made in Szeleshát’s new state-of-the-art processing plant, but still respecting tradition; their red wines are aged in small oak barrels in their loess-carved cellars for at least 6 months. Their aim is to produce balanced, full-bodied terroir wines with a clear identity.
