Szekretár Estate is located in the southern part of the Szekszárd wine region. The size of the estate is 2.6 hectares and the vineyards are looked after by János Szekretár Sr. with the utmost expertise throughout the year, thus ensuring healthy and high quality grapes. He controls yields by manual pruning, which results in fruit that is more substantial and juicy. The single vineyard wines are vinified by his son, Jr. János Szekretár in the press house which was built in 1888. The premium red wines are made in open vats, with traditional punching down, then aged for 10-12 months in 300 litre Hungarian oak barrels.
