Merlot, 2018

Merlot is one of the most widely planted grape varieties in the Szekszárd wine region. The local microclimate and the loess-red clay soil provide an ideal environment for the production of top quality Merlots almost every year, this is why it is such a popular variety.

All the vines in the Nyéki Hill vineyard are cultivated by hand by the Szekretár family with their usual meticulous care. This limited production Merlot is a genuine expression of the local terroir, it’s a substantial, sophisticated and opulent wine. Thanks to the exceptional vintage, it has a long ageing potential.
