Turul, 2017

A blend of two varieties: 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot. Strong tannin and vigorous acid structure. An elegant, rich, complex array of aromas. Right after opening licorice notes are dominant. With time it opens up to reveal dried herbs, black pepper, white pepper, BBQ smoke with bacon and smoked ham. On the palate it offers dried cranberries, raspberries, sugar-free grandmother’s black “plum jam” cooked for 36 hours. Thanks to the oak ageing it also displays notes of coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Persistent finish. The empty glass offers scents of smoked meat, mushrooms, tobacco leaves, autumn forest floor and truffles.
