Furmint Selection, 2019

Complex, well-structured dry Furmint from hand selected grapes coming from a single vineyard. Megyer vineyard lends wines great complexity and pronounced minerality thanks to its volcanic (rhyolite tuff) soil and cool climate. Papaya, grapefruit, ripe pear, red apple and butter biscuit with a hint of vanilla and salty almond dominate the flavor profile of the wine. The terroir has a marked influence. Great complexity and tension, especially on the beautifully defined, mouthfilling, mineral finish. Excellent choice with seared scallops, duck à l’orange, pork belly, Moroccan tagine or any kind of umami-rich Japanese dishes. Outstanding harmony with aged Comté or Gruyère.
