The year started with a cool spring and the summer brought lots of rain. High rainfall and less than average sunshine resulted in higher and crisper acidity which promises an excellent ageing potential. The development of aszú berries started slowly, with many wineries ending up with no aszú at all. The year 2010 demonstrated the excellence of Tokaj-Hétszőlő Birtok in cooler, more difficult vintages, as the year ended with a wonderful aszú harvest, producing one of the richest, most distinctive 5-puttonyos aszús.
