Heumann Winery

Erhard and Evelyne Heumann a German – Swiss couple founded this family-owned artisanal winery in 2003 in Hungary’s most famous red wine region – Villány. They took the chance to realize their dream – to produce fine wines offered at reasonable prices. Their passion for wine has born fruits. Numerous international awards and high scores in tastings are the evidence.

Due to the terroir (e.g. climate, soil, and growing season), the region is perfectly suited for red varieties. In most years, the grapes ripen optimally. Cabernet Franc and the indigenous Kékfrankos (aka Blaufränkisch) are the regional flagship grapes that have perfectly adapted to the terroir.  Both varieties result in outstanding wines. The other international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah profit from the climatic conditions too.
