Tornai Winery

Tornai Winery is the oldest continuously operating family estate on Somló Hill. Endre Tornai started out with 1.7 acres of vineyards in 1946. Today their holdings expand to 172 acres and their wines are on the wine lists of numerous European and American Michelin-starred restaurants. No year seems to pass by without them winning a gold medal at some of the world’s biggest competitions.

Since 2015 they have won the Trophy Award, the highest recognition of the world’s most influential wine competition, the International Wine Challenge of London four times. Somló, with its wines and atmosphere is like no other place in the world. Thanks to its special volcanic soil, the climate, and the indigenous grape varieties the wines produced in Somló show a unique character. The Juhfark crafted at Tornai Winery is a perfect combination of the variety and the Somló terroir. The inimitable character of the hill is best expressed by Juhfark, and vice versa, the inimitable character of this variety is best expressed in Somló. The result is a complex, mineral and truly peerless wine.
