Tokaj-Oremus was established in 1993 by the owners of Spain’s iconic Vega Sicilia. The estate’s vineyards are spread over thirteen viticultural areas in six municipalities within the wine region. In the different areas, the vineyards have varied soils and microclimatic conditions. Semi-precious stones such as jasper and obsidian are often found in the soils, which are formed on volcanic rhyolite and andesite bedrock. The newly built winery in the centre of the Tolcsva estate embodies a unique combination of the spirit of traditional and modern winemaking.
