Planina Winery

The family-run, artisanal winery was founded in 2003 with the aim of preserving and perpetuating the grape and wine culture of the outstanding vineyard of Mohács, called Planina by the local Sokác people. This is when the vineyards were planted and the structure of the estate, now 6.5 hectares in size, was outlined.

The characteristics of the vineyards of Mohács – the extremely high number of hours of sunshine, the loess soil with a compact structure and excellent water retention, the particular influence of the Danube on the weather – all pointed to the fact that it was worthwhile to try producing quality rosé, siller and red wines in addition to the white wine varieties.
