Schunk Winery

Their goal is to produce premium white and red wines with unique character in limited quantities on the southern slopes of the Mecsek mountains, exploiting the excellent climate and soil conditions, with low yields, minimal spraying, using mainly sulfites and copper, but without pesticides and herbicides. With the planting of a new, disease resistant Hungarian variety (Andor) in 2022 the winery will reduce its environmental impact even further.

Among the white wines, the fruit forward Zenit, with its ability to retain its acidity despite the hot climate, has been doing particularly well in Hosszúhetény. Among the reds, the very concentrated Syrah has achieved considerable success at home and abroad, and the exciting BDX Cuvée, made from the three major Bordeaux varieties, is in constant demand and much loved by consumers.
